A few weeks ago I blogged about Baby Keyler and his incredible story. I figured it was only right to give everyone an update! First of all, for those of you that donated towards “Buzzed or Bald” thank you, thank you, thank you. Your donations are SO greatly appreciated, and my Dad ended up raising over $15,700! And if you’re wondering whether he was “buzzed or bald” he definitely went BALD!

Keyler’s surgery was on Thursday August 7th and it was more complicated then everyone had hoped for. Following surgery Keyler faced several major setbacks and remained in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit, ventilated and heavily sedated, not being allowed to wake up from the anaesthetic. On Wednesday Thursday 14th, Keyler overcame one of those many setbacks, it was a major accomplishment. He continued to require significant medical support, remaining ventilated and on all kinds of cardiac medication. At this point Keyler was still heavily sedated and had not been allowed to wake up post-surgery. This was a week following surgery! And then on Sunday August 17th the very best thing happened – the doctors allowed Keyler to wake up! He immediately called for his “Mama” and recognized Nelson (the found of Corner of Love). Although he is still in recovery the progress he has made is incredible!
