The truth is and I know no one wants to admit it but everyone knows it…. sometimes beautiful heels just HURT. It’s unfortunate. You could be sporting a $600 pair of Jimmy Choo’s or some pumps from Payless and if you stand in them too long, you’re going to be in pain. So what does this mean for a bride? Are you supposed to just suck it up and be miserable? …. Or are there other options out there? Great news! … Brides are doing WHATEVER they want these days!!

Out of the weddings I’ve photographed, there is one option that I think really works well! And it’s now what I wish I had chosen to do on my own wedding day! Brides are now having a cute pair of heels that are photogenic, and look great on an album spread… and then they’re switching into a comfier pair of flats or flip flops for the reception! The great thing about this option is that you can wear your heels for as long or as little as you want, but based on your photographs it will look like you wore them all day with no pain!! Plus you’ll have a gorgeous “shoe” shot for your album!

So if you’re not excited about wearing 3 inch heals for 8 hours…. I totally understand!  Have a backup plan! However, it may still be fun to have a cute pair of heels for the sake of pictures and album spreads! So many of my brides have gotten creative with their wedding shoes and I think they all would agree that COMFORT is worth it!
